Don't count my tears / Neskaičiuok mano ašarų...

Verkiau be skaičiaus.
Užtat su garsu.
Vėl galiu laisvai kvėpuoti.
Jau sugebu padėkoti
tiems, dėl kurių verkiau.

He gives peaceful despair = išrinktiesiems

Sunku. Ramioj nevilty skęstu.
Žydžiu Damoklo kardui laukiant.
Pakibus aukštai.
Žodžių trūksta išsakyti.
Išlieti, kas susitvenkė širdy.

Verkiu, nors turėčiau džiaugtis.
Malda su svoriu.
Nusisuku. Vėl švinines duris
uždarau sergėti save.

Very shortly (just because I have to write)-labai trumpai iš pareigos

In this life it's always high and low,
climbing is inescapable
the same as rolling down.
Spiritual fight is
always there.
As Cha said:
"Our mind is the main battlefield."

Sin is within hand's reach from you.
Thus, we have to be on guard
as the Bible says.
And we are equipped
with strong weapons
(see Eph 6:10-18).

Grand Canyon was amazing:
I was there,
15 min on one peak,
15 min on another peak...
Too short to grasp the eternity :)

A blessed day

I was blessed today.
Lord gifted me with a simple and cozy time.
Today it was Lawrence's birthday.

Kim and I were invited.
It was a crowded, fun&nice party.

How to get rid of pink??

Before creating my weblog, I had to choose the template for it. As all of you, but I am not satisfied with it :) I thought that the layout will be as it was showed with very narrow colour stripe around. So it looked a nice idea to put my weblog in some freshness suit, like pink. But at the end it came to be soooooooooo wide stripes of pink around that it was tooo much for me!!! I started experimenting and changing colours, but now I got to the point where I don't know how to get rid of the pink!!!! Can anyone advise me??

Everything that you ask in my name, I will give you...

I have just watched a film called "Hotel Rwanda". It is based on historic facts.
People's cruelty and its consequences made me cry.
By no chance I say that I am better.
I will not kill people as it was and IS DONE IN PALESTINE, IRAQ AND MANY OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD ABOUT WHICH WE DON'T EVEN KNOW.
But I as well as you know what it is to hate
or be indifferent to other's suffering.

We don't have to look far to see that there
is so much hatred in the world,
so much manipulation of power
for egoistic reasons.

We don't need to watch films from the past
to see the consequences.

So much hatred, anger, indifference
and so little love, hope and faith
in You, God.

I pray and ask that You
would choose political leaders and influential
economic magnates from your own people,
Father!

I pray that You would send
the Spirit of Peace and Forgiveness
Into each heart
Especially in the regions
of chaos, terror and fear
In the regions
Where human life
doesn't cost a penny.

I pray that You
would surround us and especially
people who are in power
to make decisions
with Your wisdom!
...
Amen

Sorry, can't trace back the picture.

Graži diena / A simple beautiful day

Taigi, pasveikau.

I am healthy and strong again. I have bought gifts to my family members and some Belgium beer together with amandel stroofs and other sweet stuff for stomachs of my family and my friends.

I only need to buy a Dutch plate for my mom as she collects plates from every place she has visited. And some small gift for Lawrence who will be having his champagne-day soon.

So, this is my life in a nutshell. Of course, there is much more than that.

Naujausios naujienos arba sviestas sviestuotas = the newest news

We call it "butter is buttered" when you talk about the same thing in many words. :) So I'll be short: this week by God's grace I will go to an interview for a research job in UT. It seems to be a nice proposal and it is in Enschede.
I put this picture because this opportunity is a gift from God,
I put no efforts to get it
and I will still see what I will receive.

Viena skurdžiausių valstybių // One of the poorest countries

If you come and visit Lithuania, you wouldn't say, you wouldn't see..

Yesterday I watched Lithuanian news, I love high tech possibilities!! Yeah, but the news was saddening!

It was announced that 1/5 of Lithuanian population is below poverty line...
That's a big proportion!!! They say only Ireland and Portugal are ahead of us with these numbers!

No surprise why Lithuanians have flown away from their country and are called economic emigrants.

One famous satirist J. Erlickas has written in his book "The history of Lithuania"
that "Lithuanians' stomachs are satisfied with air" (lietuviai sotūs oru)
because a foreigner can not understand how a
person can survive with this amount of
salary.

That is why Lithuanians are saving people
and they make a lot of food themselves.

The difference between the salaries of an uneducated employee
and a manager is grand!

The higher education is not valued because
more than 55 % of Lithuanians
have graduated from university!!!!!!

So in my country I would receive a net salary of 430 eur
and a manager (the lowest rank in the bank) would receive 2857 eur.

In conclusion, there are people who live very well
and the biggest social class is middle class,
but the problem of poverty remains.

Government is now attempting to improve the situation,
but it is itself very corrupted
and not very rich,
so we'll see.

We need many prayers for Lithuania!!!!

Hartstikke leuk tijd / nuostabus metas

I am finally free!!!!!!!!!!!! No studies, no jobs, no duties, only doing what I want to do!!!! A very nice feeling!!!! It's a pity this period will be short!!!!

Thank you all for your prayers! Flue has flown away :)

So I just read and watch what I find interesting and important, I just care and think and pray about the events happening in Lithuania and throughout all the world.

The good news is that the economy of Lithuania has rapidly improved.

The bad thing is that the situation of working women has got worse in comparison with 2003.
There are much more unemployed women than men. There is a considerably bigger number of male managers than female managers. Though research indicates that female managers in information age give bigger value to a company because they are more flexible and empower employees more than male managers.

You probably know that one of my dreams is to have my own consulting company and I will see if God blesses this plan...

A picture, I guess, is made by Kim with Servan's camera, am I right? ;)

Fighting with the windmills?? Kova su vėjo malūnais??

As my friends know, I received 7 for my final thesis & I disagree with the assessment.

Looking back at the process of my design and research and at the final product, I really feel disappointed with the grade as I don't think it reflects just evaluation. Therefore, I made an appeal and wrote a letter to Examination Committee. Frances told me today that they will analyze my appelation on 17 of January in the Board meeting.

The difficult part is to accept injustice. And of course, "justice" is always a subjective term. It depends upon the criterions according to which you judge the situation and your emotions.
It is uneasy for me to accept that above all God is in control and He let this happen. Though I did this work with Him and always asked for His blessing. So now I need just to wait.

"And if there was no God, I would be very cinical and not expect any changes. But as there is God :) if He wants, the Board will reevaluate my work.

"So is this a fight with windmills? Am I acting as Don Kichote? I don't know yet.

Prieš savaitę // More than a week ago

Prieš savaitę su trupučiu pagaliau baigiau savo antrą magistrantūrą.
Praeitą antradienį, lapkričio 28-tą
apsigyniau savo magistrinį ir gavau "olandišką" diplomą!

***

December 28, Tuesday:
I presented my final thesis and graduated from Master of Science program track HRD in University of Twente!

Thanks, dear Kim, for "shooting" nice pictures!

It will take some time, but I'll be alright

The pain has passed. There's not much you can do
when you are sick. So I was reading, watching TV,
and playing spidersolitaire.
It was difficult to pray. Joy has returned.

My mom was very worried, so she suggested
to ask my flatmates to buy me medicine.

Therefore I asked and Jan bought me "paracetamol".

It's a pity we couldn't go to gym with Kim today
And I had to stay home
Though I had Dutch lesson.

But the good news is that
Lithuanians will not need
work permit from the 1 of january
in the Netherlands

And my family is ok
and I bought presents for my sis
and my brother
(I hope they like it)

The bad news is that the government of Lithuania
is so much corrupted
and it's already several years
when all this dirt comes
into light

So now they are discussing if the highest executive
of the Department of National Defense
can stay in his position
because of his relations
with Russian spies
and the information that was found...

Tarptautinis vakaras Twente universitete / the international evening in UT

It was nice, many people came for eating and then disappeared :)
There were several presentations,
mine was one among them, but
the film I wanted to show,
did not work
in the used facilities,
so I just very shortly took stage :)

Funny, many people wanted to take pictures with me,
they said: "I look fabulous". :)
A very strange feeling!
