O Lietuvoje šian Žolinės . The Assumption day in my Lithuania

It is Assumption day in Lithuania,
Thus, it is a day off.

I remember this day
As during it
We mostly went to
My mother's cousin - the Dean
of Zarasai

In this region they worship Mary a lot

There used to be church service
and a big feast :)
with lots of Catholic priests
And simple :) people

As a child I liked to watch those
people
especially priests
I had mixed feelings about them
From one side I admired their
choice & profession
On the other hand
Some of them probably knew Jesus less
than I now :)

Anyway, Kapočius was a good man
My mother's cousin
Now he is dead

...And there will be no Assumption in Zarasai anymore...
